Designed for both enrichment and sustainability, the rabbit run gives our rabbit, Charli, shelter, digging areas, and forage-friendly planting, with quiet monitoring to keep an eye on her wellbeing. A built-in litter system feeds the wider compost and soil-improvement cycle, so rabbit waste becomes a resource rather than a problem. This area is the heart of the yard's small-scale nutrient cycle.

Adopted a beautiful elderly bunny; a mini-lop named Charli.
Bought a large, flat-pack, chicken coop. This will be our main rabbit shelter. I preferred the chicken coop over the flat-pack rabbit hutches because of the additional nesting box which we'll use as the main sleeping den.
Commenced painting the chicken coop with undercoat and enamel paint from The Natural Paint Co.
All our outdoor work is on pause until September 2026.

Bought an in-ground worm farm and Tiger Worms.
Removed three Thuja from the run space.
Commenced removing the existing garden edging, though some has rotted (wood) and are proving to be difficult to remove.
Installed an in-ground worm tower and 250g (approx 1000) of Tiger Worms (also known as Red Wrigglers or compost worms).
Covered the run in sheet mulch; flattened cardboard boxes, as a biodegradable weed mat, covered with pea straw. This will breakdown over most of the coming Winter.

Contacted our local city council seeking contact details for my boundary neighbours. This is to seek permission to commence work on the jointly-owned boundary fence.
Council responded with contact details for 3 of the 5 boundary neighbours. Draft letter underway.
This project is part of Psyche by Theophora, a living sanctuary for the soul's metamorphosis — where sacred plants nurture the journey from earthbound life to winged grace, and the garden's gifts are gathered in turn.
